In August 2009, she brought her students to Spain to expose them to the architecture of Antonio Gaudi, and Fundacio Joan Miro, Musee de Picasso, and the Dali Museum in Figueres. Though not shown on the map, she flew with her students to Venice soon after to attend the 53rd Venice Biennale and to visit the private artist studio of Angiola Churchill.
